Improve without curve fitting

Don't curve-fit your strategy as you improve it

Every trader adjusts their strategy. The trap: add enough filters and any book of trades looks perfect in hindsight, then does no better on the next trades. QuantLogic looks for improvements in your own trades, and a finding has to clear every one of these checks before What works shows it.

  1. Enough trades

A finding needs 100 trades or more. With fewer, it is only named as worth watching until it has more.

  2. Steady over time

It must beat your own trades in both halves of your sessions, not in one lucky stretch.

  3. Beats luck

The same search runs again on your trades with their results shuffled. A finding counts only if it does better than every shuffled run.

  4. Big enough to trade

It must average at least 4 points per contract on NQ, or 2 on ES, or it is named too thin to survive slippage.

  5. No look-ahead

Every data point uses only what was known when you entered the trade. Exits are simulated forward, bar by bar.

  6. Not proven yet

A new indicator says so until its own flags since you built it back it up, and shows how it did on the last third of your sessions.

What the Beats luck? button does

Press Beats luck? in the Filters bar, on your selection or on any indicator card. It shuffles your trades' results 100 times: each trade keeps its market conditions, but the wins and losses are dealt out at random. Each time, it finds the best result anything on the page could have shown by chance, your own selection or any row of any data-point card. Your real selection has to do better in at least 95 of the 100 shuffles. With fewer than 10 trades it says there are too few to tell.

Beats luck
It did better than the best row any card showed on shuffled results, so it holds up even though you picked it after looking at every card.
Beats luck as a planned rule
It beat random trades but not every card. Trust it only if you chose it for a market reason before looking, like the time of day or the open.
Could be luck
Shuffled results did as well too often. Keep it as an idea and wait for more trades.

We recommend picking data points by hand

What works can point you to a selection, but you understand your strategy best when you build it yourself. Add one data point at a time, watch what it does to win rate, profit factor and drawdown, and keep only what has a market reason. Then press Beats luck? to check the selection you built against shuffled results. You will know why every filter is there, and when to stop trusting it.

Who it's for

Beginners to professionals, trading NQ or ES

Whether you trade by hand or run a system, the information is the same: where your money comes from, where it goes, and the conditions that separate the two.

  • Beginners

Stop guessing why a week went wrong. See which times of day, setups and conditions actually pay you, and which quietly drain the account. Start with the demo and learn to read your own trading.

  • Professionals

Audit an edge you already trust. Stack the conditions that improve results without curve fitting, test alternative exits with no look-ahead, and keep the same discipline across every prop-firm and live account.

  • Manual traders

Turn what historically made you underperform into indicators flagged live on your chart: every bar where all your conditions hold is marked during the session, with an optional chime when every condition holds. Trade with confidence from the first trade of the day.

  • Systematic traders

Import a backtest or the fills of a running strategy. Find the market conditions where the system wins and where it bleeds, and carry those filters back into the strategy.

See it in action

A new way to see your trading

Not a journal you fill in. Your trades, measured against the market as it was, with the answers one click away.

What works, and what doesn't

Ask one question and see where the money comes from

Ask QuantLogic reads your trades and answers with the conditions that pay you and the ones that cost you. Every figure links to the view that shows it.

  • One click applies a finding to the whole page: win rate, profit factor, net, max drawdown
  • The equity curve shows your selection against the trades it leaves out
  • Outlier days are flagged, so a lucky week never passes for an edge
  • Make an indicator from any finding in one tap
Ask QuantLogic's answer on what costs the trader money, beside the selection's results: profit factor, points per contract, long and short profit, the equity curve against the trades left out, and the events table
Real trades shown; past results don't predict future ones.

Plenty of data points, or create your own

Select one and the chart and statistics change instantly

Dozens of tables measure every trade at the moment you took it: distance from VWAP, room to the positioning wall, the last VWAP cross, the 3-minute push, price at a level, the event window, the news window.

  • Add a value to focus on it, Ignore a value to cut it, and every other table recomputes
  • Each row shows decisions, days, win rate, profit factor, max drawdown and net, with thin samples marked
  • Need a measurement that isn't there? Build your own panel, or ask QuantLogic to build it
  • If you like what you see, make an indicator out of it
Grid of data-point tables with Add and Ignore buttons: event timing, news, room to the wall, distance from VWAP, VWAP cross, 3-minute push, price at a level, setup tag

Every trade on 1-minute bars

More than a market replay: jump from trade to trade instantly

Each trade opens on the bars it was taken in, with entry, exit, VWAP, scheduled releases, the gamma walls, the gamma flip and the net-gamma band. Step to the next trade with one key and the market around it is already there.

  • Call wall and put wall drawn through the session, flip level basis-adjusted at entry
  • Net gamma as a green and red band under the bars: long or short gamma at a glance
  • Fills, points per contract, net, time held, MAE and MFE for every trade
  • Behavior tables beside it: trade number of the day, size versus your usual, minutes since the previous exit
  • What-if exits are simulated forward, bar by bar, with no look-ahead

Indicators on your chart

Your indicator, drawn right on the chart

Turn a finding into an indicator and it appears on the Trades chart as Longs and Shorts flags, on every closed 1-minute bar where its conditions hold. Your past results in the same conditions sit above the bars, so you see the setup and its record together.

  • A Longs or Shorts flag marks each bar where every condition holds
  • Shade the bars while it holds, and switch each indicator on or off from the chart
  • Each flag's move 15 minutes later is counted, so you see how it does after you built it
  • Optional chime when every condition holds
  • Saved per account, so each account or strategy keeps its own set

Real time on Analyze Live. Analyze shows the same flags and chime 15 minutes behind.

Gamma levels

0-DTE options move the market. Know where the gamma walls are.

Same-day options expiry now drives much of the intraday move in NQ and ES. Trade Analytics builds the gamma walls, the flip level and the gamma regime from SPX and NDX options positioning and puts them on every trade you took, and on the live indicators you trade by.

  • Gamma walls

The strikes where dealers are most exposed act as magnets and barriers. The walls are drawn on every trade's 1-minute chart, so you see whether your entry had room to run or was pressed against a wall.

  • Gamma flip

The level where net gamma changes sign. Above it dealers damp the moves, below it they chase them. Every trade is tagged with its side of the flip and the distance to it.

  • Positive or negative gamma

The regime at the time of the trade is a data point like any other: your results in positive gamma against negative gamma, by hour, with win rate, profit factor and net. The net-gamma sign runs as a band under the trade chart.

  • Updated every 15 seconds

SPX and NDX options positioning is sampled every 15 seconds through the session, so the walls, the flip and the regime your indicators read are never a minute old.

Measure the room to the wall in the traded direction in ATR, select the band that pays you, and make an indicator out of it.

Market context

Know what the market was doing when you traded

A P&L number says you won or lost. The context says why. Every trade is stamped with the calendar, the news, the positioning levels and the session structure at the moment you took it.

  • Economic calendar

    Live

Every US release that moves NQ and ES is on your timeline. See the next release with a countdown, and whether each trade was taken before, during or after an event window. A heads-up one minute before the release and the actual against forecast one minute after, with a chime: as it happens on Analyze Live, 15 minutes later on Analyze.

  • Live news that moves the market

    Live

The news feed, filtered to the headlines that actually move the index: a two-tier gate that needs a real price reaction or a second source before it alerts, capped so it stays rare enough to keep unmuted. Every headline is stored against your trades, and the alert reaches you as a banner with a chime: as it breaks on Analyze Live, 15 minutes later on Analyze.

  • Gamma walls, flip and regime

    Live

SPX and NDX options positioning sampled every 15 seconds gives you the gamma walls, the flip level and the sign of net gamma around each trade. Measure the room to the wall in the traded direction in ATR, and find out whether your winners had space to run.

  • VWAP and session structure

    Live

Exchange data on 1-minute bars: distance from the session VWAP, the last VWAP cross, the 3-minute push, the last closed bar against the trade, and price at a round number or pivot.

Context is built for NQ, MNQ, ES and MES. Trades from September 2025 onward are studied, because that is where the 1-minute bars, positioning levels and calendar begin.

How It Works

Three steps from your trade history to answers you can act on.

  1. Step 1: Connect or upload

Connect your Tradovate account with read-only OAuth, or upload a CSV export of your trades. We follow your fills; we never place orders.

  2. Step 2: Read the findings

See where the money comes from and where it goes: setups, times of day, events, levels and conditions. Test exit what-ifs on every trade, with no look-ahead.

  3. Step 3: Build an indicator

Turn the conditions where you win into an indicator on your chart. Every closed 1-minute bar where they all hold gets flagged, with an optional chime: in real time on Analyze Live, 15 minutes behind on Analyze.

That's it. Your own trades, in context, with nothing to install.

Verified market context

Every trade sits on 1-minute bars: time of day, session, price action around entry and exit, VWAP, positioning levels, the economic calendar and the news window.

No look-ahead exit analysis

What-if exits (targets, stops, hold times) are simulated forward on every trade, never with hindsight. Pick an alternative exit and it replaces the real exits across the page.

Indicators on your chart

Build a condition set from the dimensions where you win. On every closed 1-minute bar where all its conditions hold, your chart shows a Longs ✓ or Shorts ✓ flag, and each flag's move 15 minutes later is counted. Optional chime when every condition holds. Real time on Analyze Live; the same flags and chime 15 minutes behind on Analyze.

Ask QuantLogic

Ask about your trades in plain English, or by voice. Answers are scoped to the trades on screen, and it never changes the page on its own. General information, not advice.

  • Built on every data point behind Trade Analytics: 1-minute bars, gamma walls and regime, VWAP, the economic calendar and exchange statistics such as open interest and settlement. Data most platforms don't have.
  • Not overfitted: a candidate only becomes a strategy when it holds up on data it has never seen, then in forward testing on live sessions.
